Afraid of the SCAMS?  GOOD!

There are an amazing amount of scams going on with DIV.  Here are some tips on avoiding these scams...

Top Ten Ways to Avoid Scams...

· Do not pay a company for a product you cannot see.  The company you are hiring to report your lost value should at least be able to send you a sample report.

· Do not contact or consider a company that does not put in writing the price that it is charging you for their services.

· Do not consider a company that doesn't support their report by helping in the negotiation of  your claim or providing testimony in court (should the need arise.)  Make sure that you have these commitments in writing.

· Do not consider a company that you do not first check with the Better Business Bureau.

· Anyone can have a flashy website.  Consider what other means of advertising is done by the company.

· Any company that is effective at recovering DIV can give you a list of the law firms that rely on their services.

· Any company that is effective can discuss with you with a trial history of their "wins" and "losses."

· Do not hire the "$99 special" companies.  Like with anything else, you get what you pay for.  Good companies, ones that will get your money, do not come cheap.  You can spend $99 and get nothing!

· People with expensive cars will use these companies.  Feel free to ask for the name and number of a local business owner that you can easily identify that has used their services.

· When you have all this info, CHECK THE COMPANY OUT!  Make the calls!
